Francesco Inchingolo | Composite Materials | Research Excellence Award
Prof. Dr. Francesco Inchingolo at University of Bari Aldo Moro | Italy
Professor Francesco Inchingolo is a distinguished clinician-scientist whose extensive career spans over four decades in the fields of Odontostomatology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthognathodontics, Experimental Medicine, and Oral Implantology. His research journey began with a long-term research fellowship at the National Research Council (CNR), where he specialized in cytomorphological techniques, laying the foundation for his lifelong dedication to scientific investigation, academic excellence, and clinical innovation. As a Full Professor at the University of Bari โAldo Moroโ, he has contributed significantly to the advancement of dental and maxillofacial sciences through intensive research, high-level teaching, and continuous clinical service within the National Health System. His scholarly output reflects major contributions in orthodontic biomechanics, oral surgery, implantology, maxillofacial reconstruction, preventive dentistry, and advanced surgical anatomy, supported by extensive cadaveric dissection training at internationally recognized institutions such as Paris Descartes University. Professor Inchingolo has led and participated in numerous national and international research projects focused on improving diagnostic protocols, refining surgical techniques, enhancing patient outcomes, and integrating innovative biomedical technologies into clinical practice. His work bridges laboratory research and clinical application, emphasizing translational approaches in tissue response, biomaterials, surgical planning, and interdisciplinary treatment strategies. As Director of the School of Specialization in Orthognathodontics (2019โ2025) and subsequently Director of the School of Specialization in Oral Surgery (from 2025), he has played a pivotal role in shaping advanced postgraduate training and fostering new generations of clinicians and researchers. His multidisciplinary expertiseโsupported by four specializations, multiple advanced certifications, international collaborations, and a rich publication record indexed in SCOPUS and ORCIDโpositions him as a leading authority dedicated to scientific progress, patient care excellence, and continuous professional development in dental and maxillofacial medicine.
