Possui um Doutoramento Europeu em Biologia Funcional e Ciências da Saúde pela Universidade de Vigo, um Mestrado em Controlo de Qualidade em Água e Alimentos pela Universidade do Porto, e uma Licenciatura em Engenharia Alimentar pela Universidade Católica do Porto. Ana Vinha publicou 67 artigos em revistas especializadas, 16 em atas de congressos, 36 capítulos de livros internacionais, e 7 livros, acumulando mais de 1920 citações com um índice h de 18. Atualmente, é investigadora no FP-I3ID e colaboradora no REQUIMTE/LAQV. Além de ter orientado mais de 60 teses e dissertações, participou em mais de 40 congressos internacionais e nacionais. É fluente em português, inglês, espanhol e francês, e atua nas áreas de Ciências Médicas e da Saúde, Ciências Agrárias e Nutrição, focando-se em Bromatologia, Farmacognosia, Fitoterapia, e Biotecnologia Alimentar.
